They just get better with age

The Vintage Hounds Program helps support and encourage the long-term fostering of our sweet, sugar faced hounds. The hounds in this program are 8 years old and older, and many of them are at risk in shelters or have been picked up off the streets.

Because of their age, these hounds are harder to place — most families are apprehensive about the extra care they’ll need in their later years. But as our logo says, these wonderful hounds just get better with age. Many of them are still very active and have many years ahead of them!

How It Works

Love a senior hound as a permanent foster

A forever foster home

Our Vintage Hounds Program allows people to care for these amazing seniors while remaining as permanent fosters.

What fosters provide

Fosters provide their hound’s food and take them to any necessary vet visits.

What SCBR provides

SCBR will coordinate and fund their vet care, so cost never stands between a senior hound and a loving home.

Opening more doors — and hearts

We are hoping this program will open more doors and hearts for our wonderful senior population. It’s also a great fit for people who may be seniors themselves and would love a slower-paced companion — with SCBR’s help covering ever-rising vet costs.
